Refreshed and renewed: a ‘spiritual MOT’ for clergy and church leaders

Mon 28th November 4pm — Weds 30th November 3pm

Every vehicle, however reliable, benefits from its annual check-up – but how many of us make time for a similar process in our spiritual lives?

Recognising that the last few years have been particularly demanding for those in church leadership, this retreat offers clergy, other leaders and their spouses a ‘spiritual MOT’ with refreshment and renewal at its heart.

Using the outline structure of the Saints Alive course, we will together revisit the Trinitarian foundations of Christian faith. We begin by affirming our identity as children of God. We will consider what burdens need to be laid down at the foot of the cross. And we will seek the refreshment and gifts of the Holy Spirit, equipping us for next steps in ministry.

The retreat will include optional morning prayer and compline, and will conclude with a celebration of Holy Communion. There will be time for personal retreat and reflection, as well as opportunities for group reflection, prayer and sung worship. A number of one-to-one meetings with the retreat leaders will be available.

Led by Revd Dr Christopher Landau  & Revd Joanna Seabourne, Director of the Diocese of Leeds Intern Scheme and Area Dean of Headingley
