Introducing weekly sermons on the Holy Spirit for online services, starting on Pentecost Sunday

Pentecost e-Sermons UPDATE

As George Fisher says in his recent ReSource Blog many churches have gone online while they have been unable to meet in their buildings. It has been impressive to see how churches have adapted to the changed circumstances and the new reality and are gathering their people for worship in new and creative ways.

Many churches are live streaming worship in a way that brings faces together on a video conferencing screen. Others are preparing worship in advance and making it available on Sundays and at other times on YouTube. There is a rich online resource out there that we can dip into on any day of the week to feel connected with the worship of God's people. And it is great to see just how many people who would never think of entering a church building are connecting with church online.

From Pentecost Sunday ReSource is offering a series of 10 minute sermons, ready made for churches to incorporate into their online worship. The speakers will be ReSource MInisters and guests, all experienced church leaders who are passionate to see churches engage with the Holy Spirit for renewal, discipleship and mission.

So, Pentecost Sunday seems like a good day to start.

If this is a welcome addition to the tool kit for those planning online Sunday and midweek worship we shall keep it going, so do let us know whether you are using them for your church, and whether they are helpful.

And, of course, the sermons can be listened to as stand alone messages. Each sermon will be accompanied by some questions suitable for use in a midweek home group or for individual use.

We will update this page regularly to let you know what is coming up each week, so please watch this space. The sermons will be on our YouTube channel, with links to each of them from this website. If in doubt please return to this page and we will point you each week in the right direction!

For your forward planing we can let you know that there will be two 10 minute sermons for Pentecost Sunday and Trinity Sunday, both available from the ReSource website from the Wednesday morning before the respective Sunday, though please use tham at other times too. Full details below.

In addition we shall be posting six sermons available from Wednesday 10 June, which can be used in any order to follow on from the Pentecost and Trinity messages, each 10 minutes in length and designed for online services or personal use. You will see that they are in two 'series' should you choose to use them in that way, though please mix and match to suit your needs.

In the second 'series' we will be looking at what we believe the Holy Spirit may be saying to, and doing in, the churches now, as part of reflecting generally on how God is at work creatively and redemptively in and through the coronavirus crisis.

Meet The Ven Kevin

"Working with Kevin has been a huge success in terms of my development as a leader. Our time together has helped me to take a longer-term view of my ministry and make good decisions which we are still benefitting from. I have particularly valued Kevin’s willingness to speak openly and prophetically into the situations I have been wrestling with. His insights have often helped me see further than I could do on my own, and have always been wise, kind and gracious. I cannot recommend highly enough the work that ReSource does and in particular, the new Alongside ministry"
