LAUNCHING A Sanctuary Day for our Times

The coronavirus pandemic has affected all our lives. It has left none of us untouched. And the impact is ongoing as we look into the winter ahead and into a new year. It is important that we take stock of how the whole covid experience has touched our lives and take time to process it in prayer, and openness to the Holy Spirit. These four short retreats give a framework in which to do just this, complete with words and music.

We are delighted to be able to make available four short retreat sessions, Sanctuary Days for our Times, as a tool to help process the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on our personal lives and on our churches.

Each session can take as little as half an hour to complete or can be spread over a longer period of quiet retreat and reflection. The four sessions can be the basis for a day's retreat, and they can be used individually or with others in a group.

The online sessions have links to suggested music. There are also written versions for the benefit of those who don't have access to the internet. Overall, they have been designed to be flexible in how they are used and when they are used, which we hope means that as many people as possible can benefit from this helpful resource.

As with all our Sanctuary Days each of the four sessions invites us to set aside time to be in the presence of God, and to give the Holy Spirit space and opportunity to meet us and to speak to us. As many people have reminded us in recent months, the Holy Spirit is not in lockdown. The Holy Spirit is with us in the chaos and the pain as comforter and counsellor. The Spirit is also with us in the void and deep uncertainty as creator, the One who is endlessly at work shaping the new creation and bringing beauty out of brokenness.

We hope that this small resource will be a doorway into a spacious place in which to reflect on the pandemic journey over recent months and to get a perspective on what may still be ahead of us, knowing that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Taken in sequence the four sessions will take you on a journey from stillness; through reflection on the personal impact of the pandemic and on the life of your church; into the deeper questions of what losses the Lord is asking us to leave behind and what gains He is asking us to carry with us into the future.

Here are just two comments from those who have used the Sanctuary Days for our Times:

"I used the Sanctuary Day material as the basis for a quiet day and found it accessible, relevant and well put together. The biblical passages were very appropriate and stimulating and the music varied and helpful. I think it would work equally well as four stand alone sessions and have no hesitation in recommending it to others"

and

"Our fellowship group used the Sanctuary Day material for its online meeting last night. Everyone enjoyed it, engaged with the bible study and Apply sections and wanted to share honestly. I have really benefitted personally from using the materials and because they are online I can access it all again, and know I will want to."

Do take a look at the four Sanctuary Days for our Times HERE. Our prayer is that through them you might find God present to you, and hear God speaking to you, for such a time as this.

Director and ReSource Minister

Meet The Ven Kevin
 Testimonial

"Thank you so much for everything that ReSource put into the Frome churches day. The love, planning and prayer that went into the day was very evident – with space for worship, teaching, testimony, and time to listen to and receive from God. I found it personally hugely encouraging, and have spoken to many others who felt the same. The teaching was clear, practical, and relevant for every type and size of church. The workshops were excellent. It was really exciting to see this event happening in Frome and we will be praying that it is a significant step in releasing the work and fruit of the Holy Spirit in and through the churches in and around the town. Come again soon!"
