Get to know The Revd Esther McCafferty
Esther has been in Christian ministry for the whole of her adult life, teaching RS and working for Scripture Union before becoming a Deaconess and then ordained. She has served in Manchester, Chester and London Dioceses, and most recently, before her retirement, as Rector of Basildon, and Area Dean (Chelmsford Diocese).
Esther came to faith as a child, and says “in my mid-teens I became thirsty for more of the Holy Spirit in my life. This led to contact with the Fountain Trust, and with Michael and Jeanne Harper, then Anglican Renewal Ministries and the Springboard Team, then going on SOMA Missions, becoming an Intercessor for SOMA and ReSource, and linking in with the New Wine Network.”
“I know how Intercession has sustained and encouraged me in tough inner city, urban ministry. So I am looking forward to giving back all that I have learned as Facilitator of the Intercessors Network.
Esther enjoys travel, music, keeping fit, volunteering as a Team London Ambassador and cooking for the homeless. With her husband Peter they are Boarders for Guide Dogs during their early training, host a church home group and offer prayer ministry.
