I am a Westcountryman and was born and brought up in Devizes and worked as a chartered surveyor before ordination. I am married to Sue, a personnel manager, and we have three sons, Joe, Dan and Will. We live in Congleton in Cheshire. I was ordained as a deacon in 1991 and priested the following year. I was Rector of Middlewich and Byley and Rural Dean of Middlewich before being appointed Archdeacon of Macclesfield, in the Diocese of Chester, in January 2011. I enjoy theatre, cinema, cricket, golf and amateur dramatics.
