Jolyon worked as a barrister until 1987, when left to pursue a higher calling! He trained at Trinity College, Bristol and has led local churches and teams in Oxford, Guildford & Bath & Wells Dioceses for 30 years. He now supports his wife, Frances, in her first incumbency at St Andrew’s, Oxshott, in Surrey. He literally ‘lives with’ the trials, pressures and opportunities of leading this ‘little local and ordinary’ Church. He has particular roles with Mission Partnering, Thy Kingdom Come & Eco-Church.
Until 2021 Jolyon served in the Anglican Communion Office in support of a nine year season of Intentional Discipleship: Jesus Shaped life (JSL). This expressed his passion for discipleship. He loved working in a variety of teams with like-minded, innovative leaders from across the world, as well as here in the UK & Ireland. He continues to facilitate a global JSL Prayer Network.
Jolyon co-ordinates prayer for The Increase Association (Asia) and is a trustee of The Gold Project. Both organisations promote TEE as a model for training that equips and empowers all Christ’s followers for mission, ministry and leadership.
Jolyon and Frances have two children, Joshua and Abigail, now in their 30s and married with children, Jemima & Falcon and Hazel. All are wonderfully active in their own christian faith and Church life, in Newcastle and Durham respectively.
Jolyon is a keen runner (when not hampered by injury), gardener and maker of marmalade!
